Riptide is subscription software that turns your Shopify orders into a live queue. It is not a marketplace and not a payment processor.

Riptide Queue LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company doing business as Riptide ("Riptide," "we," "us"), provides a hosted application that ingests orders from a seller's connected Shopify store during a live show, projects those orders into an ordered queue, and exposes that queue to the seller, to buyers via a public pass, and to Discord via the seller's configured webhook. Riptide is a subscription software tool. It is not a payment processor, not a marketplace, and not a platform that takes a cut of your sales. Shopify handles your checkout and your GMV.

You sign in through Clerk, own your workspace, and answer for the people you invite. You must be 18 or older.

To use Riptide you must create an account through our identity provider, Clerk, and a workspace (a Clerk organization). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for the security of your credentials, and for the actions taken by any team member you invite to your workspace. Roles (owner, admin, mod, viewer) determine what actions a member can perform. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

You authorize Shopify and Discord yourself and their terms apply. Revoking the Shopify install stops orders flowing in.

Riptide works by connecting to third-party services you authorize, including Shopify (via the Shopify OAuth flow) and Discord (via a webhook URL you paste into Settings). You are responsible for your use of those services and for the terms that govern them. When you install Riptide on a Shopify store, you grant Riptide the scopes the app requests at install time so it can read orders and register the webhooks needed to run your queue. Revoking the Shopify install will stop data flowing into Riptide and may end an active queue.

No unauthorized stores, no other workspaces’ data, no harming buyers through the pass, no reselling, no degrading the service.

You agree not to:

  • Use Riptide to ingest orders from a Shopify store you do not own or are not authorized to operate.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to another workspace, reverse engineer the service, or interfere with its operation.
  • Use the buyer-facing queue pass to harass, defraud, or expose buyers to content that violates law or Shopify's terms.
  • Resell Riptide to a third party or operate it as a service bureau without a written agreement with us.
  • Exceed the rate, session, or order limits of your plan in a way that degrades service for other sellers.

Monthly billing sized by orders per day. Non-refundable unless the law says otherwise. Price changes come with 30 days of notice.

Paid plans are billed monthly at the price shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Plans are sized by order volume per day as described on the pricing page; exceeding your plan's daily allowance does not interrupt an open live session, but opening further sessions may require a higher tier. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Taxes, where applicable, are added at checkout. If a payment fails, we may suspend your workspace until it is resolved. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; any change applies at your next renewal.

Riptide owns the product; you own your data. We process it only to run the service and never sell it or train third-party models on it.

Riptide retains all rights in the service, including the code, UI, overlays, copy, brand, and the underlying systems. You retain all rights in your data: your orders, buyer records, queue events, brand assets, and anything else you send to or generate in the service. You grant Riptide a limited license to process that data only as needed to operate the service for you, to secure and maintain it, and to improve reliability through aggregate, de-identified usage signals. We do not sell your data, do not train third-party machine-learning models on your data, and do not share your buyer data with advertisers.

A minimal set of order fields, never shipping addresses or card details. What you show on the pass or in Discord is your call.

Riptide processes a minimal set of buyer-adjacent fields from Shopify order payloads: order number, line items (title, variant, SKU, quantity), and a public queue token we generate. We intentionally do not store buyer shipping addresses, card details, or payment instruments. When you publish a buyer queue pass or a Discord embed, you are responsible for what buyer identifying information you choose to surface.

Built for live use, with no formal uptime guarantee at current pricing. Audit trails and alerts help you recover when a third party is slow.

Riptide is a live-production tool. We aim for high availability during active live shows and will communicate planned maintenance in advance when possible. We do not guarantee uptime and we do not commit to a formal service-level agreement at current pricing tiers. If a Shopify webhook is delayed or a Discord delivery fails, the impact on your queue depends on the third-party service; we provide audit trails and alerts so you can recover.

Cancel any time. The workspace stays readable to the end of the paid period; data is deleted within 30 days of termination.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings or by emailing support. On cancellation, your workspace remains readable through the end of the paid period and is then deactivated. We may suspend or terminate a workspace that violates these Terms, that puts other sellers' live shows at risk, or that fails to pay. On termination for any reason, we will delete your workspace data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for tax, accounting, or legal-hold purposes.

The service is provided as is, without warranties.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riptide disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible threat.

Liability is capped at what you paid in the previous twelve months or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater. No indirect damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riptide's total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Riptide in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. Riptide will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost sales, or the cost of substitute services, even if we have been advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.

You cover claims that come from your misuse of the service, the content you publish, or your violation of law or of someone else’s rights.

You will defend and indemnify Riptide from any third-party claim arising out of (a) your use of the service in violation of these Terms, (b) content you publish through the service, or (c) your violation of applicable law or the rights of a third party, including Shopify or your buyers.

New Jersey law applies, and disputes go to the state or federal courts in New Jersey, without waiving consumer rights that cannot be waived.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of New Jersey, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. The foregoing does not apply to the extent that it would strip a consumer of a right that cannot be waived under the law of their place of residence.

Material changes are posted here with a new effective date and emailed to paid workspace owners. Continued use accepts them.

We may update these Terms as Riptide evolves. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the effective date. For active paid subscriptions we will also email the workspace owner. If you keep using Riptide after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
